NFCCardUSA Reinvents the Business Card with One Tap Connectivity

We had the pleasure of speaking with Dave Koppe, the creator behind NFCCardUSA, a streamlined and smart alternative to traditional paper business cards. With over two decades of experience in web design, development, and digital media, Dave brings a practical and tech-forward mindset to an outdated problem: contact sharing. In this interview, he shares the inspiration, functionality, and future of his NFC-powered solution.

Rethinking the Business Card

Traditional paper cards still dominate most networking events. What inspired you to develop a digital NFC business card—and how does it improve real-world connections?

I got tired of constantly updating my business cards to pass them out so they can just get tossed into the trash. I wanted a quick and easy way to give my contact information out, so users don’t have to manually type all my information into their phones. Keeping my information up to date was also a challenge. Every time my information changed, I had to throw away all my cards and order new ones. I would then have to notify all my contacts what the new information was. Having my contact information online lets me change it as soon as I login and customers can just download my contact information. With a tap on the phone, customers just tap a notification to open a website and from there they click on a Download button and all the information is then saved to their phone.

Seamless, Contactless, Instant

One tap to share contact info is a bold promise. Can you walk us through the user experience from setup to the first tap—and what makes it so effortless?

The setup is simple, just create an account on NFCCardUSA.com and using our mobile application, save the profile URL to the NFC Business card. Then all you need to do is tap the card to the back of the phone and the phone will prompt you to open the website URL. From there you can click the download button and save the information to the address book. You can change the website URL on the card as many times as you want. Want to navigate users to a review page? Just a few clicks in the mobile application and write it to the NFC Business Card.

Customization and Branding

Customization seems key for professionals. How do users personalize their NFC cards, and how does this reflect their brand identity?

I laser engrave anything the customer would want on the card. It can be a logo, name, QR code, and anything else they want. I have White PVC NFC cards, Black PVC NFC cards, and even Black Metal NFC Cards. I’m running this crowd sourcing campaign in hopes to raise funds to purchase a printer so I can print anything on the cards in any color.

Security and Control

Sharing digital contact data raises questions around privacy. How do you ensure that user data remains secure, especially when no app is required to receive info?

Privacy is our number one concern, and we use modern technology to keep the information safe. Users can share as little or as much information they want. All our databases are encrypted and we run security scans to make sure there are no vulnerabilities in our service. We even let users create a password to access their information so they can keep everything locked down.

The Future of Networking

From eco-conscious professionals to tech-forward brands, who are your ideal users—and how do you envision NFC technology transforming everyday networking in the next few years?

Our target users are eco-conscious and tech-forward users that not only want to save on paper costs, but to streamline the networking capabilities. Our NFC Business Cards are durable and reusable so they will last basic wear and tear being pulled in and out of a wallet.

Thank you to Dave for showing us how NFCCardUSA makes networking faster, smarter, and more sustainable. With instant updates, sleek customization, and built-in privacy features, these digital cards offer a meaningful step forward for anyone tired of tossing paper and typing in details. A tap is all it takes.
